All of you seeing The Dark Knight this weekend (or already, for the NYC crew)? You are dead to me. DEAD I SAY.

Ж-Men...but not the ones you might expect!
This week LJ Russia launched Ж-Men, a new comedy series about superheroes, inspired by the LJ communities dedicated to superheros, comics and cartoons. The title's "Ж" comes from ЖЖ, the nickname for LiveJournal in Russia.

Ж-Men's script is written by a group of LJ enthusiasts who also happen to be television professionals. Who knew? Following the premiere, five more episodes will be broadcast over the next two weeks. We hope you find the series fresh and enjoyable.

This is, of course, an experiment for LiveJournal. As always, we'd love to hear what you think!

    Dudes!
Ms. Anderson used to find the whole idea [of Mulder/Scully] ridiculous. "There was always part of me that thought, ‘What’s so special about these two, and will everybody not shut up about it?’ ” she said. “And then, while we were doing this movie, somebody sent me a link to a YouTube montage that a fan had put together of Mulder and Scully. Clips of our growing intimacy through the series. One, it was really moving, and two, I couldn’t believe how many times we held hands and actually kissed. And I was left with my very first understanding of what the fans were on about. I finally kind of got it.

GILLIAN ANDERSON: TURNED INTO A MULDER/SCULLY SHIPPER BY A VID! AS REPORTED BY THE NEW YORK TIMES!

It was a BIG TIME when BIG MEN drove HUGE FORD CARS!
I had a most excellent caper/car chase dream last night, in which my crew was a mix of O11 and Leverage characters and people from work. The funny thing was that our getaway car, in which we survived a lengthy cop chase, was a Lincoln Town Car. Yes, the car that grannies reject as too staid and lumbering, whose major use in commerce now is to ferry finance guys and lawyers home at night in NYC. You'd have trouble outrunning a motivated toddler on a tricycle in one of those. We must have had the secret KnightStark Industries edition.

...and any other baseball fans on my f-list.  I'm particularly looking at you, [info]karzender .

Open beta for now.  I'm sure it will cost something, eventually.  Use "techcrunch" as the referral code.  There were 1,000 open slots for that code when Techcrunch posted it two days ago.

I'm "Maximillian L. Bloomsworth," and my team is the Pottstown Planetoids.

Thanks (I think!) to [info]bbendick for the tip.
